Bohol power consumers will have an 8-hours or 14-hours of scheduled power interruption from 4:00 AM to 12 noon or 4:00 to 6:00 PM, this next Saturday, November 26.
This as Bohol grid experiences a total power shutdown, unless islanding mode is permitted for Bohol power generators, according to Jiuseppe R. Lomaad, NGCP’s District Senior manager, District Cebu-Bohol Area.
According to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, the country’s transmission company is set to implement the replacement of temporary optical ground wire (OPGW) within tower spans number 38 to 41, which are located along the Maasin-Ubay 138 kilovolt line.
And while the power is out, NGCP’s Ubay, Corella and Tagbilaran Substations are also set to conduct parallel maintenance activities as they are also scheduling its Annual Prevention Maintenance Activities of their 100 KV and 500 Mega Volt Amperes (MVA) Transformers.
With this, Bohol Light Company Incorporated and its franchise area, along with Alturas Group of Companies, Bohol Electric Cooperative I Dampas, Loay, Lourdes and Bolod Panglao, Macaas Tubigon, Balilihan, Catagbacan and Maribojoc sub-stations, Salcon Island Power Corporation-Bohol Diesel Power Plant, BEI, Loboc Hydro Electric Power and Janopol Hydero Electric Power would have an interrupted power supply for a maximum of 8 hours.
Meanwhile, BOHECO II franchise area, Philippine Mining Sinter Corporation, Marcela Farms Incorporated, Ubay Battery Energy Storage System, BOHECO 1 Carmen Substation as well as Power Barge 104 are on to a maximum of 14 hours.
This is so because of the replacement of the OPGW at special tower structures 38-42, line and Annual Preventive Maintenance of the above mentioned transformers.
Because of this, NGCP also requests substation personnel on duty at the time of the scheduled shutdown to closely monitor the scheduled activities to immediately commence switching on procedures and avoid delays during the isolation and normalization sequence. (RAHC/PIA-7/Bohol)
