In yet another unprecedented incident, Tagbilaran City figured ahead in yet another surge of the coronavirus disease with 325 active cases, as Bohol sees 1,132 confirmed cases of the virus, January 29, at 9:00 PM.
Teetered close to Tagbilaran City are active positive cases in Dauis which numbered 61 as of this writing.
Breathing behind Dauis’ neck is Baclayon, with 45 recorded active Covid-19 cases.
The three form a close cluster which could suggest a patten of infection centered and well within the city.
The suggestion is bolstered by Panglao, which recorded 31 active COVID cases, Loon with 23 active cases, Cortes, with 22 as with Maribojoc, Alburquerque and Antequera with 20 active cases.
That also shows that except Corella, towns near Tagbilaran have elevated number of cases, most of them seeing a rising trend after the holidays.
On the other hand, across the island, Ubay on Bohol’s northeastern part records 45 active Covid cases, with Talibon coming in close with 43 cases, Trinidad with 15 and Alicia with 12 cases.
On the southern part, Dimiao appears to anchor yet another break with its 28 active Covid cases. In nearby Valencia, it has 20 cases, while Carmen which also shares a common border with the mentioned towns record 26 cases.
Meanwhile, Candijay could also be another hub for the infection with its 19 active cases, and Guindulman has 17, Anda has 14.
Overall, Tagbilaran City keeps the highest number of active COVID cases at 325, followed by Dauis at second with 61 and ranked third in most number of cases is a tie between Baclayon and Ubay at 45.
Fourth is Talibon at 43 active cases, while Panglao is fifth at 31 cases.
Sixth is Dimiao with 28 cases while seventh is Carmen with 26.
Eighth place is Inabanga with 24 cases and ninth place is Loon with 23 active cases.
Tenth place is shared by Cortes, Maribojoc and Alburquerque at 22 active cases apiece.
As this happened, Bohol Emergency Operations Center is again showing the red flags in the hospital utilization in Bohol’s primary to tertiary hospitals.
Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital, Bohol’s COVID dedicated hospital and facility records full bed utilization for COVID ICU, 60.53% COVID ward utilization, 100% COVID Isolation use, 100% COVID ventilator, full COVID Intensive Care Unit, and 100% mechanical ventilator use.
Secondary hospital Allied Care Experts Medical Center reports no better.
The hospital reports full COVID ICU utilization, full COVID ward, full COVID isolation and full ICU. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
