Heavy rains on Friday, October 22, 2021, flooded the streets in Tagbilaran City.

The heavy rains were most likely brought by a low-pressure area (LPA) east of the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday it is not expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone, but it would cause rains as it crosses over Visayas and Palawan.

Pagasa said the LPA is currently 415 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

The state weather bureau said the LPA lies along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), which would also bring rain showers over the weekend in the northern and central parts of Mindanao.

Pagasa said that it may cross the Visayas region in the next three days.
