The BQ Mall and its 12 tenants have received the Safety Seal certifications on Thursday, Aug. 12 from Tagbilaran City Government for its better safety and health protocols against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
The safety seal was awarded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, and Bureau of Fire Protection to the establishments in the city for their compliance with the safety and health protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Covid-19.

“It is a proof that you are trying to maintain and take care of the health and well-being of every Tagbilaranons especially those who come to BQ Mall,” Mayor Baba Yap said during the awarding at the BQ Mall Atrium.
Jane Yap, Tagbilaran First Lady and founder of Gugma Tagbilaran, said that the safety seal is a testament of the store’s compliance with public health and safety protocols in the fight against Covid-19.
“It will serve as a sign to raise the people’s confidence that they are entering a safe place,” said Jane.
Reginald Ong, operations manager of BQ Mall, thanked Yap for the recognition.

“Thank you.. We are very thankful and very lucky to have this,” Ong said.
The government’s Safety Seal is issued by local government units to establishments that comply with the IATF COVID-19’s guidelines on the enforcement of minimum public health standards in public venues. These standards include screening areas for customers, contact tracing procedures, and provision of handwashing and sanitizing stations among other measures.
