The Department of Education on Tuesday announced that public school teachers will receive P1,000 additional benefit following President Rodrigo Duterte’s approval of funds for the World Teachers’ Day Incentive Benefit (WTDIB).

In a statement Tuesday, DepEd said Duterte has approved the release of P910 million for the WTDIB, which will grant each public school teacher P1,000 extra benefit.

“The grant of WTDIB recognizes the vital role of our educators in addressing the challenges of the pandemic, especially in ensuring the continuity of learning,” the DepEd said.

“With the ongoing preparations for School Year 2021-2022, we are grateful to our 900,000-strong teachers who have displayed their unwavering passion to serve and educate the Filipino youth,” it added.

The DepEd will issue guidelines on the release of the incentive.
