Archbishop Jose Palma has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the Archdiocese of Cebu announced Friday.
Msgr. Joseph Tan, Archdiocese of Cebu spokesperson, said Palma’s Covid-19 test result came back positive on Thursday night.
Palma is confined in a private room at the Perpetual Succour Hospital.
He said the people who have been in close contact with the archbishop have been informed about the diagnosis.
“The Archbishop remains in a stable condition. Let us all pray for his steady and speedy recovery,” Tan said in a statement.
