An authorized person outside residence (APOR) of Panglao town tested positive for the coronavirus disease, breaking the town’s COVID-19- free streak since the Philippines recorded its first cases in late January.

In a statement, the local government of Panglao said the APOR, an employee of PhotoSynthesis, Inc. based in Makati City, arrived last October 17, 2020.

The APOR was initially billeted at Henann Regency Resort and Spa, a certified quarantine facility to complete the 14-day quarantine set by the Panglao Inter-Agency Task Force.

A swab test was conducted on October 22, 2020, the fifth day after the APOR’s arrival.

On October 24. 2020, the APOR was transferred to the Roman Empire Panglao Resort (REPR), another certified quarantine facility, to complete the remaining days of the 14-day mandatory quarantine.

It was reported that the APOR complained of abdominal pain on the evening of October 24, 2020.

A medical doctor from LGU-Panglao visited the APOR Immediate, that evening for a medical check-up.

The PCR test result came after a day subsequent to the abdominal pain was reported and the test yielded positive of COVID-19.

The extraction team from the Rural Health Unit facilitated the transfer of the COVID-19 Positive Patient from REPR to an undisclosed municipal provided isolation facility.

Four other personnel from the RHU-Panglao, including the medical doctor, were also under quarantine for having interacted, as first generation contacts, with the confirmed positive.

As of Oct. 26, Bohol has a total of 464 confirmed coronavirus cases with 10 deaths.
