Bagani Evasco, the youngest son of former Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Jun Evasco, is the new regional director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Davao region.

Evasco took his oath before DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu on Wednesday.

Davao Region is located on the southeastern portion of Mindanao, comprises 5 provinces: Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental and Davao del Sur.

In Environmental Narratives, it said that the young Evasco, a scuba diver, had worked overseas.

Working for years in the field, it exposed him to the constant change in the marine ecosystem.

When he returned to the Philippines, he engaged himself advocating marine protection and has been working with non-government organizations (NGOs) in installing artificial reefs for reef restoration.
