2-year-old latest Covid-19 case in Bohol

Bohol logged two new patients infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Tuesday, August 18, according to Bohol Governor Arthur Yap.

The first patient was a resident of Malingin Island in Bien Unido town.

The other patient was a two-year-old from Buenavista town who was admitted at Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City on Monday night, August 17, due to fever.

Yap said the child got infected due to community transmission since the child had no travel history.

Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo, on a Facebook post, said Sitio Nangka in Barangay Putingbato where the child lives was placed on lockdown.

Contact tracing has been conducted in the said municipalities.

As of Tuesday, August 18, Bohol has 131 Covid-19 cases. There were 26 active cases, 99 recoveries and 6 deaths.
