Nine members of the Badjao community in Dauis have been placed on isolation since Monday evening after they were taken into custody by the personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Sub-station Tagbilaran.

According to the report furnished by PCG on Wednesday evening, the said individuals tried to enter the province onboard a motorized boat but failed to present proper travel documents last Monday.

These persons allegedly came from Palawan.

After learning this, PCG Sub-Station Tagbilaran deployed their vessel to intercept the said motorized boat, which arrived at the sea waters off Tagbilaran City at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8.

They were escorted and brought to the Dauis Bridge docking area.

There were five males and four females on board.

They were turned over to the barangay and brought to Totolan Elementary School where they will undergo the mandatory quarantine.
