The 65-year-old woman, who was earlier reported to have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), has already tested negative in a second polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
According to Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap, the results of her test came in today.
The patient, who is a resident of Barangay Dao, was previously admitted at a private hospital in the city.
She was about to be discharged last week from the hospital but was advised to stay after her first PCR test yield a positive result.
As a precautionary measure, Mayor Yap placed Purok 2 in Dao under lockdown last June 4.
The lockdown was later redefined and now covers only one block in the said community.
They immediately conducted contact tracing especially to the closest contacts of the patient.
Meanwhile, Dr. Cesar Tomas “Yul” Lopez, the Capitol spokesman on coronavirus, revealed in a virtual briefing this afternoon that all of the contacts of the said woman were showing no signs and symptoms.
They are still under strict home isolation.
