Chocolate Hills closed due to COVID-19 threat

The Chocolate Hills Complex in Carmen town has been temporarily closed starting Tuesday, March 17.

An executive order signed by Carmen Mayor Ricardo Francisco Toribio stated that the closure is until further notice as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.

There are at least 1,268 famed Chocolate hills of Bohol.

The cone-shaped hills – a very strange geological formation has baffled a lot of geologists. The hills are spread in six towns which is greatly concentrated in Carmen town.

The Chocolate Hills appear to be seemingly endless when viewed atop the hill in Carmen town.

The viewing deck there gives you a 360° view of the hills “as far as the eyes can see”.

Bohol is placed under “community quarantine” from March 16-20, 2020.
