Bohol football great Erwin Angalot dies

Erwin Angalot, known as “Part” in the football community, died on Sunday, his friends confirmed.

Football fans are more likely to recall Angalot wearing the No. 45 jersey, a mentor and a coach.

Angalot will be remembered for the great plays he made as a dynamic football player for the Bohol, a mentor and a coach.

He was the secretary-general and founding member of Football and Futsal Association of Bohol, Inc. (FFABI) which organized free football clinics in Bohol and in neighboring provinces.

On his Facebook post, lawyer Julius Gregory Delgado said “Coach Part is one of the pillars of Bohol Football and one of the best coaches Bohol ever produced.”

“His passion and love for the beautiful game of Football is beyond measure. His dedication to teach and mentor is unparalleled. Condolences to the bereaved family,” Delgado said in his tribute.

The Panglao Dolphins Football Club said they are “forever grateful to you Coach Part for touching the lives of many football players including us.”

Another football player Llander Barnido Jr said Angalot nurtured him.

“Ayaw undangi ang training para mas mo maayo paka” mao na iya ingon nako mao cge ko dula soccer everyday sa HNU after class. RIP to my great mentor Erwin Angalot. We will miss you part!”
