Bohol Governor Arthur Yap suspended classes in all levels in the province from Monday, March 16, to Sunday, April 12, as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The suspension was in line with Yap’s executive order signed on Saturday, March 14.
“Notwithstanding the suspension, all students shall continue to fulfill their educational requirement during the relevant period,” the order said.
“The suspension of classes being intended for safety of the students, all local chief executives are hereby directed to implement measures to ensure that the students remain in their homes during the relevant duration,” it added.
Bohol is placed on “community quarantine” on March 16-20, 2020. During this period, the province will not accept outsiders.
“For that period we will not be accepting any travelers or visitors to Bohol to give us time to seriously prepare and work together to meet this challenge,” Yap said.
