ABS-CBN host Boy Abunda confirmed the actor’s death during his closing spiels on his late night show “Tonight with Biy Abunda” on Dec. 9, Monday.
“Mga Kapamilya, kami’y taos pusong nakikiramay po sa pamilya Revilla sa pagpanaw ni Mico Palanca. Itong balitang ito ay nanggaling po sa kanyang manager, ang aking kaibigang June Rufino. Maraming salamat. Let’s continue to pray for the soul of Mico Palanca,” the host said.
Mico’s death was first announced by the Film Academy of the Philippines.
Mico is the younger brother of actor Bernard Palanca.
There’s no confirmation as to the cause of the actor’s untimely death.
However, reports by Abante Tonite and Summit Express both indicated that he jumped off a building in a residential area in San Juan.
The 41-year-old actor was known for his roles in the hit television series “Tabing Ilog” where he played the role of Perry.
He was also linked and had been in a relationship with actress Bea Alonzo.
