Authorities seized 425 grams of suspected shabu estimated to be worth around P2,890,000 million from a suspect arrested in Barangay San Isidro in Tagbilaran City on Saturday night, November 30, 2019.
Arrested by the by joint teams of Regional Intelligence Division-Regional Special Operations Group (RID-RSOG) and Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) Drug Enforcement Unit was Clemen Blanco, 34, a native of Consolacion, Cebu. His cohort identified as Simon Gurordo, a resident of Barangay Poblacion III in Tagbilaran City was able to escape.
Police said the suspects were under surveillance for two weeks.
The suspected shabu was reportedly sourced from Cebu and transported via pump boat to Bohol islets off Inabanga, Tubigon, Getafe, among other coastal towns.
Meanwhile, authorities are still conducting a follow-up investigation on the P6.7 million worth of shabu found inside an unclaimed backpack at a baggage counter in a mall in Tagbilaran City.
The backpack with a packed shabu was left last November 22, 2019. It was turned over by security personnel of the mall to the Tagbilaran City Police Station after it was unclaimed by the owner.
After five days, it was confirmed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) by PNP Crime Laboratory of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO).
Authorities have yet to identify the person who left the bag with shabu in it.
The incident may have been a failed drug transaction, according to police.
