With ‘favorable sky conditions’, stargazers will enjoy the Orionids meteor shower lighting up the sky tonight, October 17.
According to NASA, Orionid meteor shower is one of the most beautiful showers of the year.
Pagasa said the meteor shower will be active from October 17 to 25, with peak nights from October 21 to 22.
The state weather bureau said at its maximum, the shower may reach 15 meteors per hour, which may be observed under “favorable sky conditions,” meaning no or very thin cloud cover.
NASA said the annual October shower is usually a good time to spot shooting stars and as many as 1,000 can be on display per hour.
