Balahay, 31, went missing lat September 1, 2019 while onboard a bulk carrier from Brazil to Singapore, according to a Facebook post by Marino PH, a community of Filipino seafarers.

In his last FB message to his family last August 30, 2019, he told them of death threats he received from his ship mates.

Balahay has been working as a crew for almost nine months at Greek bulk carrier “Alpha Bravery.”

The post added that Balahay is supposed to go home this October. He plans to marry in January 2020.

The family suspects foul play but hasn’t lost hope yet.
