TAGBILARAN CITY — The municipal government of Catigbian, Bohol will implement a four-day work week starting Monday, March 9, as part of efforts to reduce electricity and fuel consumption.

Mayor Benjie Oliva announced on Friday that the new work schedule will take effect on March 9 following a meeting with department heads.

“After the department heads meeting this afternoon, the LGU of Catigbian will implement a four-day work week effective Monday, March 9, to save 15 to 20 percent of electricity and fuel consumption,” Oliva said.

He explained that the temporary adjustment in the work schedule is in response to directives from the national government aimed at cutting operational costs amid the ongoing tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

“This temporary shift in work schedule is in line with the national government directives to cut costs in LGU operations amid the US-Israel-Iran war,” the mayor added.
