A total of 33 individuals operating illegal small town lottery (STL) outlets in different parts of Bohol were arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) -Region 7.
They were caught from Nov. 10-11, according to Arnel Pura, head of NBI- Cebu District Office that conducted the operation.
They were found operating illegally in Jagna, Ubay, Guindulman, Dauis, Panglao,
Talibon, Calape, Getafe and Tagbilaran City.
Arnel Pura, head of National Bureau of Investigation Cebu District Office (NBI Cebdo) said these illegal STL did not have the authorization or license to engage in STL operations within the province.
These 33 ushers and tellers were charged on Monday for violating Presidential Decree (PD) 1602, which sets the provisions against illegal numbers games.
Argy Castañeda, officer-in-charge of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO)-Bohol branch, clarified that Brigantine Management Solutions Inc. is the only registered STL operator in Bohol authorized by the PCSO.
