Amadeus Fernando Pagente aka
Pura Luka Vega has been declared “persona non grata” in Bohol, which means she is no longer welcome in the city.

The provincial government deemed that the drag queen’s viral “Ama Namin” remix “clearly offended” the Christian community.

The 33-year-old drag queen is from Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte.

“The portrayal of religious figures in a manner that is disrespectful or offensive to the religious sentiments of individuals and communities is not conducive to promoting harmony and mutual respect within our society,” the resolution said.

“The Province of Bohol values its diverse population and aims to uphold respect for all religious beliefs, traditions, and practices,” the resolution added.

It said the ” declaration is not intended to limit or infringe upon the individual’s rights, but rather to express the Assembly’s strong disapproval of actions that promote disrespect and disharmony within the community. “

The “Ama Namin” remix performance drew flak on social media, with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) describing it as “blasphemous.”

Vega was also declared persona non grata by different local government units in the country such as Mandaue City. Cebu City, Manila City, General Santos City, Bukidnon, Dinagat Islands, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, and Cagayan De Oro, among others.
