Use your dance skills for the work of PEACE and get a chance to win ₱50,000!

The International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) opens its first-ever virtual dance competition with the theme “Dance for Peace” for all youth dance groups in the Philippines.

Submission of entries started on April 3 and the first round will end on April 27, 2022. The final competition will be held on May 18, 2022 to showcase the performances of the top 5 contenders via Zoom, IPYG YouTube and Facebook Livestream.

It is a joint project with the Rotary Club of Manila Metro, the local chapter of Rotary International, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide community service projects to resolve the world’s most persistent issues, including the promotion of peace, goodwill and supporting education.

According to Ms. Angel Digol, National Coordinator of IPYG Philippines, “The event aims to engage the youth in the nation’s peace building effort to create a culture of peace. Dance can move the hearts of many people. The performances must convey to the audience the importance of peace and the role of youths in promoting the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) as an instrument in achieving peace. This way, the competition becomes a powerful platform to spread a ‘culture of peace’.”

The DPCW is a document drafted by international law experts to be implemented as an international law for the cessation and prevention of wars. For the full text of the DPCW, you may visit:
