Red Cross volunteer nabbed after selling shabu in Tagbilaran

A volunteer of the Philippine National Red Cross was arrested during a buy-bust operation, police said Thursday.

A report from the Tagbilaran City police station identified the suspect as Esterlito Candol, 34, who is a resident of Barangay Dampas, Tagbilaran City.

Police conducted a buy-bust operation against Candol who was apprehended by the anti-drug operatives after he allegedly sold shabu to an undercover police officer who posed as the buyer in the bust. He was still wearing his volunteer uniform during the buy-bust operation.

Seized in the bust were 25 grams of shabu worth P170, 000.

Candol is now detained at the Tagbilaran police station as complaints for violation of selling dangerous drugs and possession of dangerous drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared for filing against him.
