A puppy in Tangalan, Aklan was born with a rare congenital condition called “cyclopia” which causes it to have just one eye in the middle of its forehead.
According to Boracay Island News Network, the newborn male pooch is an Aspin-Japanese Spitz mix, and one of the six puppies that were born in the province on Saturday evening, Feb. 6.
Owner Amie de Martin said the one-eyed puppy immediately died seconds after its birth at 10 p.m. on Saturday.
The puppy, named “Cyclops,” was born along with his five other siblings, which are all normal.
Its owner decided to preserve the puppy’s body as a remembrance to their family.
