A motorcycle rider was killed in a head-on collision along a village road in Maribijoc town on Monday night, police said.
Investigators identified the fatality as
Rick Nacorda, a resident of Barangay Poblacion in Maribojoc town.
Police said the incident happened around 6 p. m. in Barangay Punsod.
Police Staff Sergeant Eugene Morgia of Maribojoc Police Station said the victim was traveling from Barangay Aligway to Barangay Poblacion, Maribojoc when he encountered with another motorcycle driven by Nazarino Genita, 32, and his backrider Jaylou Ampoloquio, 19, both residents of Barangay San Roque in Maribojoc.
After the accident, the motorists were quickly rescued and taken to Maribojoc Hospital but were immediately transferred to Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH).
Nacorda who suffered severe injuries suffered was declared dead on arrival (DOA) by doctors.
