Tourism in Central Visayas affected due to COVID-19

Bohol Governor Arthur Yap said that the tourism in the region is affected due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat.

“Go to restaurants, ask the people who are packaging tours, 60 to 80 percent affected. Region 7 is really tourism,” said Yap during the

Yap suggested for the approval of the ‘special stimulus package’ from the national government.

He said the stimulus package for the industrial parts of the country should be different from the stimulus package for Central Visayas.

He also suggested the implementation of tax exemptions of some products and establishments related to tourism affected by the virus.

In Panglao, business establishments are already suffering from losses after the number of tourists in the region has declined.
