Of the 82 provinces and 32 highly urbanized cities tracked for their economic performance in 2024, Bohol, with an economic growth of 8.8 percent from 6.5 percent in 2023, ranks 6th and the fastest growing economy in Central Visayas, according to the data gathered by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Bohol economy grows by 6.6%
Despite the economically debilitating El Niño phenomenon and other climatic challenges that wreaked havoc in Bohol in 2023, the bullish economy of the tourist island bounced back to a 6.6 percent growth, from a pandemic -6.3 percent economic growth in 2020, the Philippine Statistics Authority said.
