TAGBILARAN CITY—Residents in Bohol can expect warmer and drier days ahead after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) officially declared the end of the northeast monsoon, or amihan, marking the start of the dry season.

In an advisory issued Monday, March 23, Pagasa said the shift in wind direction from northeasterly to easterly—due to a high-pressure area over the northwestern Pacific—signals the seasonal transition across the country, including Central Visayas.

With the onset of the dry season, Bohol is likely to experience generally fair weather and rising temperatures in the coming weeks, conditions favorable for tourism and outdoor activities.

However, the weather bureau cautioned that isolated thunderstorms may still develop, particularly in the afternoons or evenings, which could bring sudden downpours.

Authorities are also urging the public to stay hydrated, limit prolonged exposure to extreme heat, and use water wisely as temperatures continue to climb.
