Operations of sea vessels less than 250 gross tons, and even pump boats in Bohol province were suspended on Thursday, August 22, due to a gale warning due to tropical storm “Ineng.”

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Bohol suspended the sea trips from Ubay town to Leyte.

In its notice to mariners signed by Lt. Patrick John Cabasag, commander of CGS Bohol, the temporary suspension of voyage for all type of vessels/watercrafts below 250 gross tonnage was a proactive measures in order to avert maritime incidents.

Sea trips will resume upon improvement of weather and sea condition.

Pagasa issued gale warning No. 1 at 5 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, covering the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas due to Tropical Storm Ineng.

With the gale warning up, no vessels below 250 gross tonnage will be allowed to sail in the waters of Camarines Provinces, Catanduanes, eastern coast of Albay, Sorsogon, Quezon province including Polilio Island, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar and Leyte province.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers are expected in Cebu and the Visayas for the next 24 hours, the state weather bureau said.
