
Tagbilaran City Mayor Geesnell “Baba” Yap II assures the public that he will not use his influence and position to meddle with the case against the son of his city administrator who was arrested for selling illegal drugs over the weekend.
On his Facebook page “Baba Yap”, the mayor made this assurance as he also expressed his sympathy and sentiments as a father.
“It is both tragic and unfortunate sa pamilya ni City Administrator Edi Borja ang nahitabo (It is both tragic and unfortunate that this happened to the family of City Administrator Edi Borja),” Yap said at the beginning of his Facebook post.
Eric John Borja, the son of city administrator Leonides Borja was arrested on Saturday night, Aug. 10, for allegedly selling suspected ecstasy tablets inside a hotel room in this city.

Administrator Borja filed an infinite leave according to Dice Arcenal of the Tagbilaran City Hall in an interview over DYTR’s Kwentas Claras program on Monday morning.

Arcenal also said Borja was “devastated” over what happened.
Yap calls this as an “eye-opener” for all Tagbilaranons, especially the parents, that children are vulnerable to peer pressure and bad influence outside of their homes.

He asked the parents to give importance to their children and to trust the Lord Almighty.
Meanwhile, Yap has instructed the police to be alert at all times for the entry of party pills and other illegal drugs in the city so it can be eradicated and it can’t victimize others.

“Sa kanunay, atong buhaton gihapon ang tanan, kuyog sa mga Law Enforcement Agencies sa siyudad sa pag sulbad niining problemaha (As always, we will do everything we can, together with the Law Enforcement Agencies in the city to solve this problem),” he said.
