Lawyer Rennan Augustus Oliva, director of the National Bureau of Investigation(NBI)-Bohol clarified on Sunday that the information circulating online claiming that Eric John Borja was released after Saturday night buy-bust is fake because the suspect is still detained as of posting.

Oliva further said that those who doubt can personally check the NBI detention facility in Tagbilaran City.

Borja, the son of Tagbilaran City administrator Eddie Borja, was arrested on Saturday night, Aug. 10, for allegedly selling suspected ecstasy tablets inside a room in a hotel in Tagbilaran.

Agents of NBI-Bohol and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bohol seized five assorted tablets of suspected ecstasy with an estimated market value of P11,900, the buy-bust money and an iPhone.

A case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect.
