The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Bohol (CIDG) raided a cockpit arena in Barangay Totolan in Dauis town, past 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.A source told Bohol Island News (BIN) that even if it has the permits, cockpits are only allowed during Sundays or when there are fiesta celebrations in certain place as mandated under Presidential Decree 449 or the Cockfighting Law.“Cockfighting should only be held on Sundays or special holidays,” the source, who requested anonimity, told BIN. Police noticed that the New Dauis Cockpit Arena is operating on weekdays.CIDG launched an operation.”Daghan nangambak ug nanagan kay nangahadlok,” a vendor told BIN.Police stopped the game and told the bettors to go home.No one was arrested, but some persons were held for questioning by the CIDG.This is a developing story.
