The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday declared a national dengue epidemic following the increasing number of dengue cases in the country.
In a press briefing, DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III said 622 have died due to dengue.
A total of 146,062 cases have been recorded from January to July this year.
It is 98 percent higher than the same period in 2018.

In Bohol, a total of 19 barangays in Bohol province are being monitored by the DOH-7 because of the recurrence of new cases of dengue every week.
Bohol province ranks second in the most number of cases of dengue in the region at 1,941 including 20 persons who died. These cases were recorded from January 1 to July 20, 2019.
