Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) will have their new provincial director starting tomorrow, August 1.
Police Col. Jonathan Cabal confirmed to Bohol Island News (BIN) that his orders to sit as the new provincial director was out today.
The turnover will happen on Thursday morning.
In an interview, Cabal said he welcomes the new responsibility of leading the police force in the province.
The new provincial director shared he will focus on enforcing the law especially on the campaign against illegal drugs and to make Bohol one of the safest place for tourists to visit.
Back in May 2017, Cabal, who was then head of the intelligence division of the Police Regional Office in Region 7 (PRO-7), became instrumental in preventing the members of Abu Sayyaf from executing their plan in Bohol.
Apart from this, he has also led several anti-drug operations in the province.
Prior to that, he led the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) as its city director way back in 2016.
Cabal will be leaving his current designation as head of the logistics division of PRO-7.
He will be replacing current BPPO Provincial Director Police Col. Julius Cesar Gornez, whom he describes to have put on good work for BPPO.
As to the message to his men, Cabal said he wouldn’t be the strict boss they will expect. But he expects them to continue doing the “right thing”.
Cabal gave an assurance to the Boholanos that he will work hard.
Likewise, he asked for their cooperation too especially in helping their local police maintain peace and order. //
