The State of the Nation Address (SONA) is one of the many events in Philippine politics where officials all over the country gather to listen to the updates from no less than the sitting president.

Expected to attend the event are sitting public officials most especially comprising the members of the House of Representatives, the Senate, cabinet officials, and among others.

This year, Bohol officials surely did not miss to hear out what President Rodrigo Duterte has to say this afternoon.

Congressman Aris Aumentado was one of the proud Boholanos who eagerly prepared for this.

This is Aumentado’s third and final term as a sitting representative for the 2nd district of Bohol province.

In his new and fresh mandate, he is joined by one new representative and one returning congressman.

This is 3rd district Rep. Alexie Tutor’s first SONA after being elected from post last May 2019 election.

For 1st district Rep. Edgar Chatto, this is his first SONA as a sitting congressman after his nine-year stint as governor.

The three of them were also in attendance as the Lower House has opened its Regular Session this morning.

They are yet to vote their new House Speaker, as of this writing.

Meanwhile, there were also other officials invited to attend the 4th SONA of President Duterte.

Five mayors from the different towns and a city are there dressed in their barong and formal gowns.

In attendance are Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Baba Yap II, Dauis Mayor Marietta Sumaylo, Garcia Hernandez Mayor Tita Baja Gallentes, Panglao Mayor Leonila Montero and Cortes Mayor Lynn Iven Lim.
