A birthday party turned bloody after a neighbor was stabbed and wounded by the celebrant’s in-law in Inabanga town, police said.
The victim, Feliciano Torrepalma, 63, is now recuperating at Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City from his stab wounds inflicted by his neighbor identified as Tirso Vistal, following an altercation at 12:15 a.m. on Monday (July 8) in Barangay Lutao in Inabanga town.
Police Corporal Lydio Namocot, Jr of Inabanga Police Station said the two men and other neighbors had a drinking session in Vistal’s house to celebrate his son-in-law’s birthday at 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Due to drunkenness, their past disputes resurfaced that led to a heated argument. Vistal who had allegedly been provoked got a knife and stabbed Torrepalma twice.
Vistal surrendered to the police.
